This 4U rack model is configured with two 2.5GHz Intel Xeon processors (upgradeable to four) a 1MB L3 cache per processor integrated Smart Array 5i Plus controller with RAID 0 1 0+1 and 5 support and 2048MB PC1600 Registered ECC SDRAM (upgradeable to 32GB). Since there is no pre-installed hard drive you are free to configure storage to your needs. In addition to a 400MHz bus speed the DL580 features a 24X (max. speed) low-profile removable CD-ROM drive in one Multibay a 3.5 1.44MB removable floppy drive in a second Multibay four hot-plug hard drive bays (maximum internal storage capacity of 587.2GB) and five available PCI slots (four hot-plug). For your networking needs a Compaq NC7770 PCI-X Gigabit Server Adapter is pre-installed in one PCI slot. The integrated graphics controller uses 8MB SDRAM to support resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 in 16 million colors. Continuous cooling is provided by seven hot-plug redundant fans.
