IBM presents its 18.2 GB Wide Ultra2 SCSI hard disk drive to increase your storage capabilities.??This disk has 10.000 rotations per minute thus allowing maximum transfer rate of up to 80MB per second. Its slim design - only 3.5 inches accommodates more powerful actuator resulting in breakthrough access times while significantly reducing power consumption and required cooling. When connecting exclusively Wide Ultra2 devices and controllers data transfer rates are nearly doubled allowing connection of more devices to a single controller without regard for the bus bandwidth. This drive incorporates LVDS technology which enables longer cable lengths and faster speeds. Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology (S.M.A.R.T.) feature can provide advanced warning of an impending drive failure when used with the appropriate software (such as Netfinity Manager) ensuring data accuracy and high reliability.
